Ideal for dessert lovers looking for breakfast ideas, easy recipes, or seasonal food ideas—these bars are perfect for quick breakfasts, indulgent snacks, or crowd-pleasing desserts.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

3 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and thinly sliced

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 teaspoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)

1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)

1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1/2 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups flour, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix and press the dough into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 15 minutes.

3. While the crust bakes, toss sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, cornstarch, vanilla, and brown sugar. Let sit.

4. In another bowl, mix oats, 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and cold butter to form a crumbly topping.

5. Remove the crust from the oven and increase the temperature to 350°F (177°C).

6. Layer the apple mixture evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the crumb topping over the apples.

7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and apples are tender.

8. Cool completely before drizzling with salted caramel sauce. Slice and serve.

Notes

Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for more flavor depth.

Let the bars cool fully before slicing for clean edges.

Store in the fridge for a firmer, chewier texture.
