Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm water
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
1 teaspoon coarse sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Add olive oil, salt, garlic, rosemary, and flour. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
3. Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
4. Grease a 9 or 10-inch cast iron skillet with olive oil. Shape the dough into a round and place in skillet.
5. Let it rise again for 30–45 minutes.
6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush dough with olive oil and sprinkle with rosemary and coarse salt.
7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
8. Let cool slightly, then slice or tear and serve warm.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, use roasted garlic instead of raw.
