1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

⅛ teaspoon ground cloves

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg yolk

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

⅓ cup pumpkin puree

4 oz cream cheese, softened

¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 ½ cups powdered sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt.

2. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add egg yolk, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree to the butter mixture. Mix until combined.

4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until a dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.

5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes. Let cool completely.

7. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
