Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry

115 g (4 oz) cream cheese or mascarpone

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 ripe plums, sliced

1 tablespoon honey or apricot jam

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 pinch ground cinnamon or nutmeg

Optional: whipped cream and mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4–6 squares. Score a border around the edges and prick the centers with a fork.

3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

4. Spread the cheese mixture within the scored border of each tart square.

5. Arrange plum slices on top of the cheese layer and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.

6. Brush pastry edges with beaten egg.

7. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until pastry is puffed and golden.

8. While still warm, brush plums with honey or jam for shine.

9. Let cool slightly, then top with whipped cream and mint if desired.

10. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use all-butter puff pastry for the best flavor and flakiness.

Don’t overload with plums to avoid soggy pastry.
