Ingredients
1 pound Ribeye, Sirloin, or New York Strip steak
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic minced
4 ounces fresh mozzarella sliced
1 cup cherry or heirloom tomatoes sliced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves torn
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons balsamic reduction
Instructions
1. Combine balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl or zip-top bag. Add steak and marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
2. Preheat grill to medium-high. Remove steak from marinade and grill 4–6 minutes per side to desired doneness. Let rest 5 minutes.
3. Slice mozzarella and tomatoes, and prepare fresh basil.
4. Slice rested steak against the grain. Arrange slices on a platter or plates. Top with mozzarella, tomato slices, and basil.
5. Drizzle with balsamic reduction and serve immediately.
Notes
Always rest the steak after grilling to lock in juices.
For a thicker glaze, reduce balsamic vinegar on the stove until syrupy.
