Ingredients

2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts

8 ounces sliced mushrooms

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small yellow onion, diced

1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

1. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then sear both sides in a hot skillet until golden brown (about 3–4 minutes per side).

2. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté mushrooms until browned. Add onion and garlic; cook until soft.

3. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir well. Slowly whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream until smooth. Simmer until thickened.

4. Stir in half of the parmesan cheese.

5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place seared chicken in a baking dish. Pour sauce over chicken.

6. Top with mozzarella and remaining parmesan cheese.

7. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and chicken is fully cooked.

8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of thyme or rosemary to the sauce.

Use an oven-safe skillet to sear and bake everything in one pan for easier cleanup.
