Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups chocolate chips

16 small brownie squares, chilled


Instructions

1. Prepare a batch of brownies from scratch or a boxed mix. Let them cool, then cut into 1-inch squares and chill in the fridge or freezer.

2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.

3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet.

5. Stir in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.

6. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough and flatten. Place a brownie square in the center and wrap the dough around it to form a ball.

7. Chill the dough balls for at least 30 minutes.

8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 12–14 minutes until edges are golden and centers are just set.

9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

You can freeze the unbaked stuffed dough balls and bake straight from frozen—just add 2 extra minutes.

Slightly underbake the cookies if you love that ultra-gooey center!
